The music of Albeniz captured my heart when I was studying in the Paris Conservatoire. I was also amazed by his background, which is full of adventures and mysteries. In addition to his representative work, the Iberia, I chose the pieces related to Spain, and played them almost chronologically.

Toru Takemitsu is one of the most important composers for me, not only because he is Japanese, but also because of his human and musical dimension. This CD includes most of his piano solo works (except arrangement and graphic designed score music) and shows you a wide range of his style and fantasy.

This is my first commercial recording. Among several composers that Naxos suggested to me, I liked Schumann and picked up three out of his piano works that are well contrasted: Op. 1 is fresh and humorous, Op. 21 monumental and full of story, and Op. 111 rare played and very complex.
